David Lee Barksdale, Sr., 74, transitioned from this earthly life to life eternal on May 10, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Barksdale was a graduate of Atkins High School and a former employee of the Winston-Salem Transit Authority.

Barksdale leaves to cherish fond memories his former wife, Brenda Barksdale; his children, Lisa, David T., Carlton (Renee), Teresa, Melissa (Richard), David, Jr., and Rev. Larry (Penny); several grandchildren; and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church with Bishop Joseph Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Tuesday at the Church.
