Obituary

David "Doc" King, Jr. departed this life on Monday, July 1, 2013. He was born April 3, 1950 in Chester, SC to the late David King Sr. and Ruby Moore King.

King was a member of Disciples of Faith Gospel Ministries and a former member of United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. David attended Chester County Public Schools and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He worked at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, B&E Aerospace (formerly Fairchild Industries), and he was currently self-employed as a general contractor until his health declined. David was a member of the Camel City Elks Lodge 1021.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip King.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Williams King of the home; two daughters, LaKisha King and Lamara King of the city; three sisters, Florence Hopkins, Percelia King, and Minnie (Lawson) Strong all of Chester, SC; one brother, Octeavious King of Chester, SC; one sister-in-law and three brothers-in-laws of the city; four step-children, Keauna Williams, Chiquitta Williams, Rayshaun Williams, and Maurice Williams all of the city; seven step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
