Mr. David Lee Harris, Sr. passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Harris was born on June 16, 1933 in Winston-Salem, NC to Emmanuel Harris and Della Williams.

Mr. Harris attended the local public schools graduating from Atkins High School. He was inducted into the Atkins High School Hall of Fame having lettered in three sports. He also had a "storied" career with the W-S Pond Giants. David retired from RJ Reynolds after working 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.
Surviving Mr. Harris are his loving wife of 49 years, Bobbie Jean Jones Harris; children, David Lee Harris, Jr., Tonya Crumpton, and Della (Michael) Kellam; grandchildren, Ricky Royster, Lynn (Jerald) Hallums, Patrick Watson, Teneshia Watson, James Harris, and Christian Harris; great-granddaughter, Aniyah Bitting all of W-S, NC; one brother-in-law, Wheeler M. (Shirley) Jones; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jessie Jones, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
