Attorney David Laverne Cooper was born January 13, 1950 in Elizabethtown, North Carolina to Eric Cooper, Jr. and Thelma Campbell Cooper. He departed this life on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory; Vernal McRae Cooper, a devoted wife of 36 years and four sons, Brian L. Cooper of Atlanta, GA, Alan R. Cooper of Raleigh, NC, Cedric M. Cooper of Winston-Salem, NC, and Eric L. Cooper of Greensboro, NC; three brothers, James E. Cooper (Alta) and George W. Cooper (Delores) of Raleigh, NC and Willie L. Cooper (Claudette) of Brandon, FL; three sisters, Mary Cooper Thompson (Johnny) of Waynesville, MO, Dorothy Cooper Ellison (Douglas) of Brooklyn, NY, and Rachel Cooper Atkinson (Robert) of Greensboro, NC; granddaughter, Ania Javonne Cooper; an uncle, Roscoe Campbell of Clarkton, NC; aunts, Christine Robinson of Clarkton, NC and Louise McDowell of Elizabethtown, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, March 13, 2008 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC with the Rev. Prince Rainey Rivers officiating. Family visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 450 Metropolitan Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27101 Building Fund in memory of David Cooper.
