Daryl "Pooh" Deon Boyd, of 2701 Brightwood Court, passed away on August 25, 2008. A native of Winston-Salem, he was born on December 8, 1975, the youngest son of Willie and Otelia Hatchett Boyd. Daryl attended Parkland High School.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents; Willie K. Hatchett and James Porter; his paternal grandfather, Willie (Bill) Boyd; an uncle, Tommy Hatchett; and an aunt, Katie Williams.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Daryl Williams; daughter, Diamonique Boyd; three brothers, Derric "Molly" Hatchett, and Duan Boyd of Winston-Salem, and Kennard Marshall of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Melody "Angel" Boyd of Winston-Salem; paternal grandmother, Maggie Boyd; maternal aunts and uncles, Loretta, Iris, Guscil, Lisa, Tyrone (Debra), Elroy (Cozette), and Anthony (Sabrina) Hatchett all of Winston-Salem; paternal aunts and uncles, Annie (David) Brown of Linden, NJ, Elouise Boyd, Jimmy (Shirley) Boyd, and Frances (Waunzo) Sherard all of Winston-Salem; a devoted nephew, Ahman Boyd, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends left to cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held on Thursday, from 12 noon until 1:00pm at the church.
