Darweshi Monta Wilson was born on November 3, 1972, the oldest son of Larry and Gail Wilson. He was affectionately called "Weshi" or "Reece".
On Friday November 21, 2025 God called Darweshi from his earthly home to his Heavenly home. He was surrounded by family members who loved him dearly. Darweshi was humble, giving and a caring person. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was always there to assist his home bound neighbors by taking them to doctor appointments, shopping and doing their banking. I'm going to miss our daily prayer/scripture and our trips to Ed McKay. I can hear him say mom who's making the coffee this morning. He was a talented and smart individual during his school years. He was very smart in mathematics and could recall dates and events of things that happened years ago. He was a big fan of the Carolina Panthers. He remained humble throughout his life.
He was a graduate of Carver High School class of 1991 where he was a member of the JROTC. He later joined Job Corp when he graduated. Darweshi was Baptized at an early age at Union Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his precious grandmothers, Lillie Walters and LuBertha Wilson; grandfather, Demarshall Shepard; two uncles, Robert "Que" Walters and Malik Shariff; four aunts, Gwendolyn Pickering-Scott, Santra Wilson, Maxine Gibbs and Ella Faye Boston.
He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories his loving father and mother, Larry and Gail Wilson; a special and devoted brother, Jamil Wilson of the city; his devoted aunts, Jennifer (Leon) Evans who was like a second mother to him, and Marian Wilson whom he had a special bond with; two very supportive aunts, Geraldine Garbutt of the city and Pricilla Garrett of Vallejo, California; four uncles, Charles Walters, Ernest Walters, Emmanuel (Pegi) Walters and Bobby (Faye) Shepard all of the city; a loving great aunt, Edna McDonald; great uncle, Joe Lewis Walters of the city and a host of special cousins and friends.
