On February 5, 1954 the Lord sent a special angel, Darlene Moore Spruill, down to be on this earth. On the morning of October 23, 2016 the Lord took back his angel. Darlene was born in Washington, DC to Bernice and Dorothy Moore. Darlene graduated from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System in 1973. Darlene loved jazz, gospel, R&B, and reggae music. She loved dogs and bettas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her uncle and aunt, James and Janie Brown whom raised her when she came to Winston-Salem, NC at the age of 5; a very special and loving cousin, Edna Wade; and her dog, Cher whom she loved so dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Ira Spruill of the home; a dear and close friend, Steve Jackson of W-S, NC; dear cousins, Roland (Rachel) Wade of W-S, NC and Leon (Katie) Wade of El Paso, TX; her two bettas that were the joy and highlight of her life, Jazz and Reggae; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
