Obituary

Mrs. Darlene Lucas Dyson was born May 3, 1938 to the union of James and Irene Bailey in Davie County, North Carolina.  She was educated in Forsyth County schools and graduated from Carver High School in 1955 and graduated Business School in 1956. Following Business School, she was employed at Forsyth Hospital.  She confessed faith in God at an early age and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1976 at Bethesda Temple Church.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Cliston Lucas and to this union were born three children, Pamela Renee Flowers, Wanda Lucas, and Gregory Lucas. In 1968, she and her family relocated to St. Louis, MO.
She was employed with Barnes Jewish Hospital and retired with over 40 years of service. She was a devoted and active member of Bethesda Temple-St. Louis, MO, where she served many years on the usher board.
She remarried William Dyson in June 2005. She departed this life on Monday, July 11, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her father, James; mother, Irene; sisters, Pauline and Barbara Jean; brothers, Thomas, Bobby, and Lester; husband, Cliston Lucas; and her devoted daughter, Pamela Renee Flowers.
She leaves to cherish in her memory her loving husband, William Dyson; daughter, Wanda; son, Greg (Carla); grandchildren, Leslie, Aprille, Brandi, Kenny, Harrison, Sydney, and Malik;  devoted sister, Elder Doretha Reid; great-grandchildren, Brooke, LaJaila, Jermara, Kenny, Jr., Aleeyah, Bailey, Kingston, and Bo; as well as host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Mt. Calvary Holy Church.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00 on Tuesday at the Church.
