Darlene Clemons was born June 20, 1953 in Harlem Hospital in New York City to Willie Cox and Masie L. Clemmons. She passed away August 22, 2011 at 4:00am at her residence at 2729 Spotswood Ave. W-S, NC.
Left to cherish many dear memories are her two brothers, Vaughn Clemons and Romaine Clemons; one sister, Patricia Garcia; a great-aunt, Rose Edwards of New York; five sons, Shaheed Clemons, Kareem Clemons, Richard Dunlap, and John Jerome Dunlap all of Jersey City, NJ and Johnathan Green of the home; one daughter, Tameka Cuffee; three God-sons, Charles A. Randell, Justin Thorns, and Tajhon Woodruff; best of friends, Ashley M. High; a close companion, Carolyn Howard; and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will b held at 1pm Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Hanes Memorial CME Church with Reverend Walter L. Funderburk, Pastor of Wayside CME Church officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Tuesday at the Church.
