Daniel Jones, 88, passed away on October 24, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1937 in Macon County, Alabama to Dan and Emma Reed Jones.

Daniel Jones is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Williams Jones; his daughter, Ingrid Jones; his son, Daniel C. Jones (Tosca); his brother, William Jones (Carolyn); his grandchildren: Nzingha, Khafre, Sayge and Asali; his godson, Christopher Jacobs; Vanessa "the baby" Gist (John), a special friend of the family; brothers-in-law, Ted Williams (Rose), Willie Edward Fields (Jessie), and Richard Hughes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Artie, Naomi and Mildred.

He lived in Magnolia, Alabama until 1st grade then moved to Tuskegee. He was educated in Tuskegee public schools and graduated from Tuskegee Institute High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Tuskegee Institute (University) in Industrial Education and his master's degree in Industrial Education from North Carolina A & T State University, where he met his wife.

He was an educator for 38 years. He retired in 2002 from Forsyth Vocational High School of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. After retiring, he and his wife were avid travelers, visiting and vacationing in 38 states and internationally.

Daniel enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was a member of United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He was also a brother in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and was a veteran, having served in the United States Army.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, October 31, 2025 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park.
