Ms. Cynthia Marie Dodd was born on February 26, 1971 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Joseph E. Dodd, Sr. and Shirley Ann Kelly Dodd.

On July 2, 2026, Cynthia peacefully transitioned from this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Joseph E. Dodd, Sr. and Shirley Ann Kelly Dodd; her cherished nephew, Christopher L. Dodd; her maternal grandparents, Julius W. Kelly and Martha A. Harriston Kelly; and her paternal grandparents, Otis B. Dodd and Magdalene G. Reynolds Dodd.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her precious memories her five beloved children, LaShonta M. Dodd (Mercedes), Marc L. Sloan (Idalia), John W. Baxter, Javon Baxter (and his loving companion), and Ashaun Sloan all of Winston-Salem, NC; two granddaughters and seven grandsons who brought endless joy to her life; lovingly remembered by her four siblings, JoAnn Dodd, Sanday M. Dodd, Jackie S. Dodd, and Joe E. Dodd, Jr. all of Winston-Salem, NC; her devoted life partner, Douglas Harrison; her dedicated co-parent, Marc Sloan, Sr. both of Winston-Salem, NC; she will be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, strength, and beautiful spirit.

For more than 20 years, Cynthia faithfully served at Winston-Salem Statue University where she was a respected and well-loved employee. She treasured her Ram Family and formed lifelong friendships with many of her coworkers. Her warm smile, generous heart, and vibrant personality made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, July 13, 2026 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Monday at the Chapel.
