Obituary

Mr. Curtis Carnell Williamson of 5206 Northwest School Road, Greensboro, NC, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Moses Cone Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Williamson was born in Caswell County, NC to the late William H. Williamson and Ressie Bushnell Williamson.

He attended North Carolina A &T State University, earning a BS Degree in Health and Physical Education and Masters Degrees in School Administration and Driver's Education. He was a public school educator in Forsyth, Guilford, Robeson, and Rockingham Counties. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his parents; sister Eunice; and brothers Joe, Graham, and Shelton.

He is survived by his wife Dr. Marie S. Williamson, of the home; two sons, Marc C. and Dr. Michael B. Williamson, of Jamestown, NC; and stepson Bobby L. (La Sondra) Moore of White Plains, MD; grandchildren Jessica and Jeremiah Mann of Greensboro, NC; Brandon and Brittany Moore, White Plains, MD; sisters, Mildred W. Spicer and Annie W. Francis of Cleveland, Ohio; Mary W. (Howard) Outerbridge, of Columbia, NC and Geraldine W. (Robert) Kornegay, of Plainfield, NJ; brothers Roscoe Williamson of Cary, NC and Robert H. (Nettie) Williamson, of Reidsville, NC; special nephews Blackwell Palmer, Jr. of Caswell County and James C. Solomon of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of relatives and friends.

Services in celebration of his life will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, April 14, 2008 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 950 File Street Winston-Salem, NC with Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating. Internment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held on Monday from Noon until 1:00pm at the Church.
