On Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 1:45pm the life of one of God's children was transitioned into eternal life to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Curtis Eugene Knight was born August 14, 1951 in Richmond, VA and raised is St. Louis, MO, the youngest son of Alphonso W. Knight and Lottie S. Knight of Hampton, VA.
The pleasant and warm person with a big wide smile, held a strong and serious work ethic with a very industrious nature. Curtis was a master builder and finisher in everything he set his hands to do. In life, the completed works of Curtis were many; never deterred from that which he was committed to do.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Elder Beverly Knight; children, Kelly M. Knight, Maurice E. Knight, and Candice E. Knight; grandchildren, Prestillion J. Knight, Jade D. Knight, and Jasmyn A. Roan; father, Alphonso Knight, Sr.; siblings, Jacqueline Knight and Alphonso Knight, Jr.; mother-in-law, Dora Wilborn; 4 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law whom he loved dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, July 20, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Barry Washington officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Monday at the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in the honor of Curtis Knight to the Cancer Society, Homes for our Heroes, or any other Veterans Organization.
