Cranford Martin Shore was born May 9, 1913 in Pfafftown, NC to the late Wiley Alford Shore and Berlie Mae Martin Shore. He was the twelfth of seventeen children, five males and nine females. All of his siblings preceded him in death which afforded him as the last one to leave his earthly home on July 6, 2010.
He grew up and worked in the Brookstown Community during his early years. He worked as a logger in the sawmill industry for many years and as a farmer.
He received little formal education in the public schools, but was a student of life. He was a rabbit hunter all his life and was a family man.
He met and married his wife, Nellie Gray Ledbetter Shore and became the adoptive father of a daughter, Mary "Magdalene" Ledbetter Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter; four grandchildren, Billy, Bernard, Elaine, and Veta; several devoted nieces, two of which were attentive to his call, Diana Shore and Elizabeth Gordon; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Saturday at the funeral home.
