Craig Johnson was a Christian who was reborn of the Lord in August 1989. He was fleshly born on June 7, 1956 to Lois Quinn and the late James Johnson, Jr. in Buffalo, NY. Craig lived in Winston-Salem for many years when he departed this earthly life on Saturday, February 7, 2015 and he peacefully slept away into God's heavenly presence.
He was solid as a rock in his faith just like Lot. No matter what came his way, he always praised the Lord. He was baptized at an early age in Buffalo, NY. He attended United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Prison Ministry. He was a graduate of East High School in Buffalo, attended Carolina Christian College in W-S, NC, served in the US Army, and retired from the City of Winston-Salem.
He was an affectionate family man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He leaves to cherish his warmth, kindheartedness, and free flowing love to his wife of 28 years, Lydia Wright Johnson; son, Gregory (Teresa) Johnson; daughter, Lakita Johnson all of the city; three granddaughters, Tierra Hammond of Ridgecrest, CA, Tyissa Hall, and his special caregiver and best friend in the ever!, G'Taya Johnson both of the city; one great-grandson, Xavier Ezell of Ridgecrest, CA; mother, Lois Quinn; sisters, Cynthia (Michael) Jackson and Penny Parks of the city; brother, Paul Quinn of the city; and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and many, many friends. His main goal in life was to direct people to Christ. He was a giver from his heart, he is now Glory Bound.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Friday, February 13, 2015 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Prince Raney Rivers officiating. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:30am on Friday at the Church.
