Cozy Ann Jarrett Gaston, 81, was the daughter of the late Andrew Jarrett Sr. and Cozy Richmond Jarrett. She was born October 18, 1937 in Winston-Salem, NC and was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church located in Oak Ridge, NC. Cozy received her "Heavenly Wings" and peacefully went home to Glory Tuesday, December 25, 2018 while surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cozy Ann aka "Auntie", "Grannie," and "Co" (short for Cozy) attended Forsyth County public school before marrying Johnell S. Gaston in 1955. She was known by everyone for her tremendous love and concern for her family and friends. When she was in good health, she called everyone to wish them Happy Birthday (usually too early in the morning) and if she knew someone was sick, she would call to check on them even in her illness.
She enjoyed laughing, reminiscing about the good ole' days and eating fried chicken. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and talking about the goodness of Jesus and His Amazing Grace. She loved life and lived it to the fullest until she became ill.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Jarrett and Kenneth Jarrett.
Her love will always be cherished by her three daughters, Belinda "Bonnie" Howard (Stanley) of Greensboro, NC, Dr. Angella "Cee Cee" Hauser (Adam) of Greensboro, NC, and Vanessa "Dare" Johnson of Winston-Salem, NC; seven grandchildren, Reco Gaston, Charles "CJ" Mason, Keya H. Lynch, Adam "AJ" Hauser II, Yonna H. Trejo, Jasmine and Tamara Johnson; nine great grandchildren, Jaden Jolly, Shaheed Gaston, Kadijah Hardison, Charles Lynch, Amariah Lynch, Ilana Lynch, Tatianah Trejo, Xylah Mason and Namaste Mason; four sisters, Mary Bohannon, Linda Jarrett, Kay Hatton and Wanda "Della" Drummond all of Winston-Salem; one brother, Andrew Jarrett; two goddaughters, Dr. Arnita Porter and Janella Jones; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
