Mr. Coy DeMarcus Astrop took his final journey unexpectedly to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2010. Coy was born May 14, 1970 in Winston-Salem, NC to Leroy Harper and Chiquita Kaye Astrop.
He was a 1988 graduate of West Forsyth High School and was employed at Aramark. Coy was a great father and he will truly be missed by his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his two sons, Coy, Jr. and Marcus Astrop and his devoted friend of 18 years, MeLinda Warren all of the home; his mother, Chiquita Astrop; one sister, Lisa (Quintin) Scott of Yadkinville, NC; three brothers, Donte' and Chris Astrop, and Darlye Simmons all of Winston-Salem, NC; his grandmother, Christine P. Astrop of Winston-Salem, NC; aunts, Brenda (Carl) McLaurin, Lavetta (James) Williams, Alice (Bobby) Clark, Lydia (Sherman) Marshall, and Teresa (Gary) Foster; uncles, Henry (Sheila) Astrop, Christopher (Sheila) Astrop, Kelvin, Jeffrey and Terry Astrop all of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Phillips Chapel Baptist Church with Bishop Alicia Peak-Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Wednesday at the Church.
