Mrs. Corrine Astrop Williams peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 23, 2020 at her home. She attended the public schools in Forsyth County and was a homemaker.
Corrine married Will Williams, Jr. on April 19, 1952 and to this union 6 children were born, Willie, Christopher, Velda, James, Lydia, and Clarence. She was an excellent mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone that lived around her. Always stretching a meal to share with whomever came to visit, making a pallet on the floor for a kid to lay while their parent worked; she loved and cared for many children. She was known by her neighbors as Ms. Corrine. The neighbors would always see her working in her flowers and vegetable garden, or cooking especially her cornbread, chicken, fried peach and apple pies could be smelled down the street. She will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Mable Astrop; her husband, Will Williams, Jr.; her son, Christopher Williams; three sisters, Dorthy Barber, Virginia Daniels, and Helen Murray; and two brothers, Henry Astrop and Olin Astrop.
She is survived by her five children, Willie Williams, Velda Miles-Smith(Dean Smith), James Williams, Lydia Flynt(Larry), and Clarence Williams; stepson, William Ingram; one sister, Patricia Clyburn (Jessie); three sisters-in-law, Sadie Beal, Louise McConnell, and Christine Astrop; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Private services will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.
