Obituary

Born on October 3, 1945 at Moore County Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina, Corrina Rebekah McNair was the first daughter and 3 rd child of 10 born to Rev. John Preston and Hattie Bell McNair.  She spent her childhood growing up in Taylor Town, North Carolina where she was a highly active member of Galilee Baptist Church and attended Academy Heights for grades 1 through 12. Upon graduating with her High School Diploma from Academy Heights in 1962, she furthered her education at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, North Carolina.   After completing her studies in 1964, she began serving her community as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Rebekah's calling as nurse brought her to Richmond, Virginia where she met and married Solomon Parker. In 1967 they gave birth to their beautiful daughter Tracie Adair. 3 years later while continuing her career as a nurse they had their loving son Solomon Christopher at her place of birth Moore County Hospital in Pinehurst, North Carolina.  Continuing to pursue her career as a nurse the family moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1972.  After caring for her husband Solomon until his death in 1976, she returned to her home state of North Carolina.

Rebekah's life is a monumental testament of faith, love and caregiving. Her deep faith in Christianity and worship continued throughout her life, through fellowship, teachings and being the best example of WWJD. In her personal life she was a true vessel of the Love of Jesus and the brightest beacon for his light, blessing the lives of all she touched. She knew no strangers.  All were warmly embraced as friends and family. For the next 33 years her professional calling as a nurse took her from the Hills of North Carolina to the steps of the nation's Capital.  Upon reaching the unprecedented position for an LPN of Director of Nursing she retired in 2009.

Returning home to North Carolina in 2009 to be closer to her family and roots, Rebekah landed in Winston-Salem.  For the next 12 years she continued to be a blessing and a beacon of joy for all those encountering her light and love.  On November 2, 2021 this Ladder Day Saint was called home to the Lord, completing her life mission of Love to join her Heavenly Father. She was preceded by her father, John Preston; her mother, Hattie Bell; brothers, Lyncolon, Reginald Kent, Calvert Owen, Paschal Anthony, Clinton Daniel and James Preston; her husband, Solomon Parker; and her grandson, Solomon Christopher Parker II.
