Mrs. Cornell Sheppard Turner, of Carver School Road passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday July 23, 2013. Mrs. Turner was born on March 30, 1936 to Sandy Nathaniel and Lottie Mae Sheppard who preceded her in heaven along with her brother, David Sheppard; and sister, Margret Warren.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Fred Turner Jr.; daughters, Debra Faye Turner and Lillian Renee Turner; five grandchildren, LaShander, Roger, Princess, Jackie and Fred; 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Melvin Sheppard; and a host of other family, relatives and friends will remember her as well. Mrs. Turner's greatest joy in life was serving the Lord and being surrounded by her family, doing everything thing she could to make them laugh and smile.

Homegoing services will be held at 1pm Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Albert Saunders of Greater New Hope of Life officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 12:30pm and there will be a "Tribute to Grandma" from 12:30pm until 1pm on Monday at the Chapel.
