For Corey Blake Simons, the cycle of life began on January 20, 2005, with his birth in Winston-Salem to Penny Barr (Richard Hodge) and William Simons, Sr.  Corey lived out his days loving his family and friends.  On October 17, 2022, Corey took his heavenly flight to reunite with his beloved brother and best friend, William Simons, Jr. The joys of his birth and the fond memories of his life will forever remain in the hearts of all that loved him.

Corey was educated in Winston Salem /Forsyth County Schools and was currently a senior at Ronald Reagan High School.  Corey enjoyed playing basketball and played with various AAU teams and at Ronald Reagan High School his freshman and sophomore year.

Corey leaves to cherish the fond memories of his life, his loving parents; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Barr; his sister, Ashley Simons; his niece, Cali Young; and a special friend, Kayla Coleman.  He also leaves to cherish dear memories a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Friday, October 28, 2022 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Friday at the Church.
