Constance Devora Benjamin-Tapp passed away at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on the night of October 19, 2019.

Constance was born on October 21, 1946 to Austin and Earlene Benjamin. She was the youngest of two brothers (Samuel and Christopher Benjamin). Constance graduated from one of Winston-Salem's Big Four Historically Black High Schools, Atkins, Class of 1965.

She worked for General Dynamics for 30 years.

Like her mother and father, Constance was a member of Hanes Memorial CME Church. In retirement, Constance worked for a child care agency and also the Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County School System.

She enjoyed shopping for the latest fashion, word search puzzles in the Winston-Salem Journal, and watching Maury. Constance was a passionate collector of elephant figurines. She believed the symbol of the elephant brought good luck and prosperity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Earlene Benjamin; and her brothers, Samuel and Christopher Benjamin.

Constance is survived by a sister, Michelle Butler; two children, her twins, Keith and Shawn Easter; two grandchildren, Kedrick and Keenan Easter; one great-grandson, Keelan Easter; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ingrid Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
