Mrs. Connie Poindexter Douthit departed this life on Monday, November 18, 2013.
She was born May 26, 1925 in Rural Hall, NC.
Mrs. Connie was a lifetime member of New Hope AME Zion Church in Lewisville, NC and served on several committees and boards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John M. and Della G. Poindexter; her husband, Roland T. Douthit; and one son, John S. Douthit.
She is survived by five children, Roland Douthit Jr. (Daisie), Reginald Douthit (Pamela), Cheryl Williams (Craig), Linda Hughes (Jerome) and Derrick Douthit (Shawn); seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Friday, November 22, 2013 at New Hope AME Zion Church in Lewisville, NC. Interment will follow in the New Hope AME Zion Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 12:30pm on Friday at the Church.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations and memorials be made to New Hope AME Zion Church's Building Fund at 7000 Shallowford Road, Lewisville, NC 27023.
