Officer Clyde Welton Barco, 58, of 3420 Thornaby Drive passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born December 20, 1948 in Elizabeth City, NC the son of Lucy Williams and Curtis Barco and relocated to Winston-Salem, NC in February, 2005.
He was a 28 year veteran of Baltimore Police Department. During his career, he served as a patrol officer in the Western District. Officer Barco was assigned to the Special Operations Bureau prior to being transferred to the Property Division in 1994 and served in the Security Unit, where he assisted in maintaining orderly ingress and egress of all employees and visitors to the Headquarters/Central District complex.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Hannah; three sons; one daughter; two daughters-in-law; seven grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; three sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; uncles; aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, god-mother, god-sister, other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Monday, January 15, 2007 at Hanes Memorial CME Church with the Revered Roy Blake officiating and the Eulogy by Pastor Clyde Lindsay. The family visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until 1 pm Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Carver Road Christian Church Building Fund, 3200 Carver School Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.(RUSSELL)
