Obituary

Clinton Walker was born December 27, 1940 in Rockingham, North Carolina to the late Hal and Esther Walker and departed this life for his eternal rest on November 3, 2025.

Mr. Walker was educated in the North Carolina public school system and completed his education at Leak Street High School in Rockingham, North Carolina. After graduating from high school, Mr. Walker moved to Glen Arden, Maryland to learn the brick laying trade. It was in Glen Arden where he met and married the love of his life, Joyce, in 1963.  And to this union, a son and daughter were born. In addition to his son and daughter, Mr.  Walker also found time to mentor many young men in his Glen Arden neighborhood.

For a number of years, he worked as a brick mason for several companies. Taking matters into his own hands, he and brother William Walker established their own company, W and C Masonry, eventually becoming a sub-contractor for Ryan Homes in Northern Virginia.  After the many years of working all around the Washington Metropolitan area, he decided to move back to North Carolina in 1994 with his wife, daughter and granddaughter, settling in Winston Salem.

Mr. Walker continued his trade in Winston Salem and has left his mark on many brick shopping centers, schools and private homes.  After retiring, he spent most of his time chauffeuring his granddaughter to her many after-school activities, supporting Mrs. Walker in her many affiliations, and visiting with his other grandchildren.

Those that knew Mr. Walker knew that he loved to joke around, play cards, and watch a good game show. And although Mr. Walker was a man of few words, his soft manner left a lasting impression on anyone he met.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Walker, Haywood Walker, Thomas L. Walker, William Walker, and Edgar Eugene Walker; and sisters, Reatha Walker, Thelma Walker, and Mattie Louise Kirven.

Mr. Walker leaves to cherish his memory wife, Joyce; son, Mark; daughter, Page; grandsons, Mark, Jr., Dartangion (Shanteara), and Brandon (Kamisha); granddaughter, Noel; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Blanche Walker and Vera Walker; nephews, Frank Stancil, Louis Kirven, Jr., Jeffrey Walker, and Donald Walker; nieces, DeRaye Sisco (Jeff), Arnette Walker, and Avis Bull (James); and a host of other relatives and special friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 4129 Northampton Dr., Winston Salem, NC 27105 and Livestream: Global Galilee YouTube.com.
