Clayton Alexander Reid was born on May 25, 1938 to Duval Robert Reid and Queen Esther Burrell. He was the second oldest child of nine children. Clayton served in the military. He was in the U. S. Army and served over 16 years as an enlisted officer. During his time in the military, Clayton fought in the Vietnam War. Clayton also attended and graduated from Piedmont Bible College.
Clayton was employed by Forsyth County Public Schools as a teacher's assistant and mentor prior to retirement. As a teacher's assistant, Clayton touched the lives and hearts of many children. He was not only a teacher but a father figure to many. In addition to his teaching, Clayton mentored and witnessed to many brothers and sister in Christ. He relished in taking others under his wing and guiding them on their Christian journey.
Clayton had a significant impact and influence on so many lives. He was a loving husband to his wife, Naomi Reid for 53 years. He was an exceptional father to his children and a phenomenal grandfather to his grandchildren. Clayton was cherished by a host of nieces and nephews. His friends were more like family than friends.
Clayton will be missed tremendously, not only by his family but his church family and community. His laugh and smile were infectious, and his faith was unmatched.
Clayton loved the Lord Jesus Christ, his family and his church. His family and friends are left to cherish many loving and precious memories.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Thursday at the Church.
