Jesus said "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." On Sunday, September 5, 2010 Claudette T. Holley, entered into eternal rest, after an extended period of illness at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born August 3, 1943 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Mrs. Juanita Robinson and resided with Mr. and Mrs. Will and Ida Holley. She attended Atkins and Paisley High Schools and later worked as a teacher for the Head Start program, retiring after serving nearly 25 years. She also worked and retired from the W-S Journal.
She was a faithful member of New Light Baptist Church, where she served with the Sunday school, Gospel Choir, and Vacation Bible School.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Devon (Judy) Holley; three daughters, Nadine Baldwin, Chevelle (Chris) Hughes, and Sabrina (Alvin) Stowe; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five brothers; five sisters; and a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, September 11, 2010 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1527 E. 15th Street with Reverend Samuel P.L. Hickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
