Bishop Claude D. Thomas, Sr., 61, went into eternal rest early Sunday morning, April 19, 2015. Dr. Thomas was born to the late Mr. Charles Leroy Thomas, Sr. and Mrs. Delores Fielder Thomas on April 26, 1953.
He was born and reared in Winston-Salem, NC and attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. He was the Founder and Pastor of Genesis Victory Outreach Center. He worked as a bus driver for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School Transportation Department.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Marilyn Tailor Thomas; daughter, Tori (Corey) of Atlanta, GA; sons, Claude, Jr. (Demitersa "DeeDee") of the city and Isaiah (Christina) of Springville, AL; grandchildren, William Corey Thomas, Jasmine Juane' Thomas, Camaya Denea' Thomas, Isaiah D'Juan Thomas, Jr., and Lauren Christian Thomas; his mother, Delores F. Thomas; siblings, Minister Louise Kirk, Wilma (Steven) Samuel, Charles, Norris, Earl, Minister Sharon (Allen) Pinkney, Kenneth (Diane), Synthia (Leland) Salter, Minister Brenda Lowery, and Damon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Homegoing services will be held at 12noon Friday, April 24, 2015 at Genesis Victory Outreach Center, 1882 Old Hollow Rd. Walkertown, NC 27051. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The viewing and family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
