Mr. Clarence George Pledger, known to many as " Chuckie or Chuck" was born June 6, 1960 to Betty and George Pledger.   He answered God's call and departed this earth early Friday morning, July 14, 2023.

He was a student in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School system and worked as a general laborer prior to his initial cancer diagnosis. For 10 years he was healed of that ugly word until it returned aggressively. Chuckie fought as hard as he could with all of his might, until God said take your rest my son.

Chuckie was very much loved by his mother, sisters, and family, including his longtime girlfriend of 30+ years, Rhonda Jones, with whom he lived. Whenever he had a chance, he would attend services at Becks Baptist Church here in the City of Winston-Salem.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and brothers, Wibby and Eric.

He leaves to cherish loving memories his mother, Betty (James) Davis; sisters, Andrea Pledger and Brenda (Rodney) Sanders; girlfriend, Rhonda Jones; six nephews and one niece; great nieces and nephews, many uncles and aunts, host of cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Rural Hall Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Wednesday at the Chapel.
