Clarence T. Clark “Pee Wee”, a beloved husband, devoted father and cherished friend, peacefully passed away at home on April 26, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on December 11, 1948, in Winston-Salem, NC, Clarence was predeceased by his parents, Frank Wells Clark and Elsie Sherrod; as well as his beloved siblings, Franklin Fair and Janet Robinson.
Clarence shared his life with his beloved wife, Carolyn Lewis Clark, whom he married on June 28, 1997. Their union was a testament to enduring love, spanning 58 years together. Carolyn was not only his wife, but his best friend and caretaker to the very end.
A proud graduate of Paisley High School, Clarence dedicated 38 years of his career to the American Red Cross, where he served as the Facilities Coordinator. His colleagues remember him for his quick wit, humor, and unparalleled work ethic, qualities that made him not only an invaluable team member but also a joy to work with.
Clarence was a passionate lover of HBCU college sports, cheering enthusiastically for his favorite team, Winston-Salem State University. His zest for life was evident in his love for the game and the community it fostered, and he often shared this passion with his family and friends every football season. Clarence loved music and would listen to the oldies every Sunday evening.
Surrounded by a loving family, Clarence leaves behind his loving wife, Carolyn Lewis Clark; his six children, Alfreda Pittman, Antionette Lewis, Anthony Lewis, Angela Lewis, Tyease Wright and Timothy Thomas; six grandchildren, Jashawn Lash, Jasmine Pittman, Jerrell Lash, Shaunice Rush, Jada Lash and Tavion Pabon; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Deborah Brown, and Evelyn Puryear (Johnnie); a devoted sister-in-law, Peggy Hawkins (Henry); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Clarence's life will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. A family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to come together to honor a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
