Clara Ann Singletary was born May 15, 1963 to the late James Singletary and Eugenia Thompson of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She departed this life on January 20, 2021.  She was a native of Forsyth County and a graduate of RJ Reynolds High School class of "80-81". Clara was a former employee of Wind Gate Hotel, CourtYard by Marriott, and The Comfort INN Suites where she was an Housekeeping Supervisor.

Clara was a faithful member of Jehovah Deliverance of Life , Pastor Tammie Clark for more than five years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rachel Mae Wolfe

She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Carlos D. Singletary; grandson, Carlos Singletary, Jr. of the home; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Vera Singletary, Carolyn (Johnnie) Spann, and Regina Singletary; three nieces, Danielle Singletary, LaDonna Jackson, and a devoted niece, Kia Singletary; one nephew, Stephon Jackson; seven great-nieces and nephews; devoted Godsons, Isaiah Wade  and TJ; God-granddaughter, Tiffany  Shelf; four God-grandchildren, Jada Kelly, Chantan Kelly, Zariah Shelf, and Kyndal Shelf; nine aunts, Kathy Amos, Bobby Amos, Carolyn Amos,  Patricia Glenn, Linda Thompson, Sharon Glenn , and Brenda Glenn all of the city and Alice F. Glenn and Betty Amos of Greensboro, NC; five uncles, Willie (Corrine) Thompson,  Donald Thompson, Cedric Glenn and Charles Amos all of the city and Harry  (Margo) Amos of Klene, TX; Fiancé, Quentin Via; devoted friends, Bernell Martin, Teresa Black , Bookie and Marita Saunders; devoted cousin/caregiver, Johnnie Mae Thompson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services will be held Friday, January 29, 2021.
