Obituary

Somewhere between the late evening of January 24 and the morning of January 25, 2012, angels, spirits from the other side, swooped down and ushered our daughter, sister, auntie, godmother and friend over to the other side. Clara Mack Duff was born in Bishopville, SC on December 29, 1952.

Clara owned and operated the Exodus Child Enrichment Center for 20 years, until its closing. She then joined the elementary staff of The Carter G. Woodson School for a short time until she became ill.

We pray that by God's mercy and grace she has been warmly received and that she has taken her seat with our beloved ancestors, our father, Hayzle Lee Mack; our sister, Betty Mack; our aunties, Licenia Mashack, Ruth McDonald and Naomi McDonald; uncle, Eugene McDonald; grandparents, Henry and Mary Mack, Clara and Sudie McDonald and Mattie McDonald; nephew, Roderick Hopkins; and many others.

Lord, we thank you for our time with Clara. Clara always had a listening ear and a willing heart. She was loyal and dependable, never met a stranger, and always sort to help. Clara was stern, but fair. She was a woman who spoke her mind. She will remain with us forever, in our hearts and minds. May we honor her through good and upright deeds, with the knowledge that we will join her there on the other side at the appointed hour.

We are Clara's mother, The Reverend Mother Lee Faye Mack; brother, Preston D. Mack (Belieta); sisters, Hazel M. Mack, Ruth A. Hopkins, Lenora McClain, Annette Martin and Flossie M. Lucky; nephews, Malcolm J. Mack, Elricko Mack, Joshua K. Mack, James Martin, Renwick Martin, and Tracy Lucky; nieces, Rasheedah Bey-Adebowale (Adeyemi), Atiya Y. Bey, Jessica B. Mack, Angelica F. Mack, Clarissa Martin, and Chrishon Lucky; great-niece, Lucia Maliyah Brisbane; devoted friends, Goldine Shelton, Venessa Byers, and Jacquetta Tolson; and a host of godchildren, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and church members.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Macedonia Worship Center with Bishop S.D. Johnson officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
