Christopher Deboice Robertson, 74, peacefully departed his earthly life at home on Sunday, April 4, 2021, after a period of declining health. He was born on January 25, 1947 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Joseph Knox and Lula Robertson.
Shortly after he was born, Chris relocated to Lancaster, SC. He was educated in the Lancaster County school district and was a 1964 graduate of Hillside High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and was a soldier in the Vietnam war. After his time in the military, he eventually met and married "his twin", Cynthia. A job offer relocated Chris back to Winston-Salem where he worked and retired as a machinist for RJ Reynolds.
A jack of all trades, but a master of none, Chris enjoyed tinkering with cars and motorcycles. He loved fishing, playing the guitar, and making jokes from time to time. Chris was a husband, father, friend, and dedicated member of Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Charles Funderburk.
Chris leaves behind memories to his wife of 47 years, Cynthia Robertson; son, Deboice Robertson; granddaughter, Monica Robertson; sister, Glassonia Cooper; two special children that he loved as his own, Naomi and Moriah Beecher; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm-6:0pm Monday, April 12, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Interment will be held in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
