IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher Lamont
Chaplin, Jr.
June 29, 2021
Christopher Lamont Chaplin Jr. was born on July 31, 1993 to Christopher Lamont Chaplin Sr. and the late Shakitha A. Hauser at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He often attended Mt. Moriah Outreach Center and Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church during his early years. He was educated in Winston Salem/Forsyth County School Systems and graduated from Robert B. Glenn High School in 2012. He was employed with Adele Knits. He was good with technology and highly creative with his hands. He found his niche on the football field growing up - playing Safety for The Tiny Vikings, moving on to middle school basketball at Mineral Springs Middle School and also played high school football for Glenn as well. Football was so much of a passion for him, he lent a hand mentoring other kids on the football field during his adult years. Chris was a true die-hard Baltimore Ravens Fan – NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT ONE!
Christopher aka "Chap" through the years, could always be found with a smile on face and laughter pouring out of his soul. He was one that you could truly sit and have a conversation with ranging from football to "what was cooking"; he loved to eat. He wasn't a stranger to walking in your house and going straight into your refrigerator! Chris was known for being positive towards others and a delight to be around; if you were having a challenging day, he gave you his time and definitely his ears! He was dedicated to his family and the values that lied within. Growing up, his siblings and cousins had a bond that could not be broken. From playing sports together - to the normal sleepovers, when you saw one, nine out of ten, you saw them all. He was passionate about his family to the end.
Christopher was one who loved deeply. He found true love with Shamonica and from that relationship, came his two heart strings – his sons. He was passionate about being a father. From taking them to practice or assisting with Virtual school, Cameron and Ca'Marion, could always be found by his side; truly inseparable. He never left their side on the football field and never missed a game! He was the epitome of an outstanding and loving father to his boys!
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shakitha A. Hauser; maternal grandfather, William Carpenter; paternal grandfathers, Alphonso Chaplin Sr. and Willie Sutton Jr.; paternal great grandparents, O'phil & Ethelene Williford; and maternal great grandfather, Robert R. Hauser.
Christopher Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Christopher (Ayonna) Chaplin Sr.; his loving sons, Cameron & Ca'Marion Chaplin; five siblings, Dante' Sutton, LaChrisha Chaplin, Khrystal Chaplin, Chistopher Chaplin, III and Caman Chaplin; five uncles, Alphonso (Kimberly) Chaplin, Julian Brooks, Milton Hauser, Samuel Jarvis, III and Brian Parrott; five aunts, Joyce (Steve) Carter, Latessia (Harold) Wine, Dana (Troy) Benton, Tiffani Carpenter and Dr. Lerah Cunningham; grandparents, Eula (Robin) Richardson, Benita Hauser and Valencia Sutton; great grandparents, Rose Mary Hauser and Ernestine Stevenson; his loving partner and the mother of his two boys, Shamonica L. Sheff; a special aunt that he loved dearly, Arcola Lewis and special cousin Dana Johnson; four special cousins that grew up closely like brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Rebecca) Cole, Ashantee Smith, Shan Price Jr. and Benjamin Smith; special friends, Marine Nicole Sheff, Rodney Baldwin and Cliff McDonald; and a host of great uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1pm until 6pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.
Private funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021.
