After courageously facing the challenges that life, as we know it, had to offer, our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend answered that great call from our Father God to receive his reward early Sunday, June 6, 2010. Mr. Christopher Bernard Caviness was born in Greensboro, NC on October 8, 1968 to Ms. Dorothy Demps and the late Mr. Charles Caviness. He was the fifth child of six children.
Christopher graduated from Walter Hines Page High School in 1986. Chris was employed by Hayward Industries in Clemmons, NC where he was a QA Inspector. Chris was a member of Gate City Family Worship Center in Winston-Salem, NC where he participated on the Evangelism and Intercessory Ministry.
Chris was a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who actively participated in the life of his family. Chris was full of life and brought happiness to those around him. His smile was infectious to those who knew him, and even those that did not, would never forget such a smile.
His memories and love will always be cherished by his loving mother, Ms. Dorothy Demps; two brothers, Albrey Howard (Twala) and Anthony Caviness (Rhonda); three sisters, Choona Howell (Norris), Chinita Howard, and Ebony Caviness; five nieces, Tamaria Howard, Jasmine Howell, Essence Howell, Destinee' Fuller, and Kiara Fuller; three nephews, Denzel Howard, Phillip McLaughlin, and Corey McLaughlin; a very devoted friend, Rick Moore; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Leach, Sr. presiding and Apostle Theophillus Jones eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
