Christine "Teena" Grant was born on January 17, 1951 in New York City, New York to Hilda C. Hoskins and the late James Hoskins.
She departed this life on June 12, 2012 at 12:30 am in Winston-Salem, NC at the early age of 61.

Christine was a graduate of Colonia High school. She continued her education in cosmetology as well as healthcare. She worked for Woodbridge State School for 15 years. Later she dedicated her life to raising any child in need. She was a member of Pneuma Pentecostal Church of Deliverance, Inc.

Christine was the mother of Late James Hoskins. In 1981, she married the late Ronnie Alston and they have a daughter Tiffany Alston from this union.
Christine was well known for her loving nature and colorful personality. She loved church, children, and singing, but most of all she loved the Lord. She leaves behind a legacy, she leaves behind avoid. Yet, she leaves behind the peace of knowing she has gone home to glory. Her memory will never be forgotten. She made sure of that by giving us plenty of laughter, wisdom, prayer and love.

She is survived by: Grandchild: Christian J. Hoskins. Sisters: Mildred Wade, Celia Ann Diggs. Brothers: Henry Guest, Steven Hoskins (Jennifer). Nephews and Nieces: Tyrone Cromartie (Alicia),Leila Cromartie, Shervon Lavendar, Iesha and Trenice Wade, Marcus Hoskins, Tyrell Hayward, D'Ondre Hoskins, Olivia Diggs, Gerald Huggins, Tiasia and Xaiver Cromartie, Diamanti Huggins, Tris'ten Campbell and a host of adopted children, God children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Apostle Faye Duncan Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 9:30am until 10am on Saturday at the funeral home.
