Christian Pate Linton, affectionately known as Chris, passed away on July 19, 2024, in his hometown of Winston Salem, North Carolina at the young age of 20. Born on March 11, 2004, in High Point, NC he was the only child of Janet Pate Linton and Frank Linton, Jr.
Chris graduated from Atkins Academic and Technology High School class of 2022 and was accepted into the electrical engineering program at UNC Charlotte. He completed his freshman year prior to his illness. Chris was a participant in Evonik Superabsorber LLC's summer internship program, working in the engineering department and was looking forward to continuing his studies closer to home at North Carolina A&T in the Fall of 2024.
Chris took an interest in baseball and excelled in the sport, playing for multiple teams throughout the years (YMCA, Kernersville Little League, Kernersville All Stars, and several travel baseball organizations). He also participated in band, STEM camps and enjoyed fishing with his dad. In his senior year, Chris co-founded the debate club, where he and his friends met after school to discuss current events and challenge each other's thoughts and opinions.
Chris grew in faith by doing what Yahshua (Jesus) instructed in John 14:15, "If ye love me, keep my commandments". He never missed an opportunity to share his faith with friends, family and even strangers.
Chris was preceded in eternal rest by his paternal grandmother, Florence Linton. Who frequently reminded him "Nana loves you, but Jesus loves you more".
He leaves behind a loving family: his parents, Frank and Janet Linton; paternal grandfather, Frank "Paw Paw" Linton, Sr. of Winston Salem, NC; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Shirley Richardson of Modesto, CA; maternal grandfather, Frank "Buster" Pate of St. Louis, MO; aunts, Linda Linton and Kay Pate of Winston Salem, NC, Regenia Richardson of Greensboro, NC and Kimberly Richardson of Modesto, CA; uncle, Jerome Pate of Sacramento, CA; close cousins, Eric Smith of Winston Salem, NC, and Jada Grove of Sacramento, CA; his dearest love, Quiana Anthony of Rural Hall, NC and many great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
