Christian Emmanuel Glaspie, age 19, of Winston-Salem, spirit was freed to fly on Thursday, March 10, 2022. He passed away peacefully at Forsyth Medical Center where he was also born on September 06, 2002.
Christian was a student at Carter High School and TRU Taekwondo Martial Arts School. He was a very active and loving young man. He loved music (listening, singing, and dancing) & good food (especially pizza). He enjoyed playing video games and many sports as both a participant and spectator. Two of his favorite teams were the Carolina Panthers and Duke Blue Devils. He was the ultimate wrestling fan. He loved to travel, and he loved his family.
Christian had a big heart & a beautiful smile. He had an incredibly big presence. He exuded confidence but was very humble and caring. He never allowed his disability to limit his abilities. To know him was to love him! His Light was so bright that it will forever shine. He touched the lives of many people. Christian was a superstar in our hearts. He leaves us smiling through our tears.
Christian was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Peggy Glaspie; maternal great grandparents, Mable & Hosea Vann; paternal great grandparents, Asper & Irene Glaspie; special aunts, Jeanette Evans & Retha Mae Lowe; and big brother, Kimeko "Meko" James.
Christian is survived by his mother, Veronica Denise Glaspie; father, Maurice Glaspie (Cynthia); brother, Maurice A. Glaspie, Jr. (Iasia); maternal grandparents, Gladys Christine & Issac Leroy DeWitt; paternal grandfather, Willie Faison; niece, Amira Graham; special aunts, Tonya Harris Bey (John) & Carol Goodwin; extended family, Taylor Watkins (Danielle), Dominique Bell (Amanda), Durrell Russell, Devin Feimster, David Goodwin, Alyssa Goodwin, and Isaiah Goodwin; and a host of cousins, other family and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.
Private funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Wilson Chapel Church Cemetery, Turkey, NC on Friday, March 18, 2022.
