Chiquita Rene Coad was born October 27, 1960 in Winston-Salem, NC to Don S. Coad, Sr. and Myrtle Banner Coad, the second youngest of nine siblings.  She departed this earthly life on September 16, 2021.

She graduated from East Forsyth Senior High School class of 1978.  Shortly after high school she joined the United States Army where she served 15 years and retired as a telecommunications specialist.  She was currently employed by the Department of Veteran Affairs for over 20 years.

Chiquita was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Myrtle Coad; her eldest son, Reginald Coad; and siblings, Ronald Banner, Sharon Coad, Rickey Coad, Don Coad, Jr., and Darrell Coad.

Chiquita leaves to cherish the memories of her life her daughter, Chelsea Sanford; two sons, Adrian Coad and Omar Sanford; her five grandchildren, Adrianne Coad, Cayden Sanford, J'Cye Coad, Adrian Coad, Jr., and Kyrie Coad; her siblings, Craig Coad, Debra Coad, and Sharpe Pitts; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private funeral services will be held Monday, September 27, 2021. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
