Obituary

"Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Chineta Hooper Sheff, 77, a native of Winston-Salem, NC departed her earthly life on February 26, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was born May 17, 1935 in Rockingham County to the late Roosevelt and Dora Hooper. She was a graduate of Laughlin High School in Summerfield, NC and she retired from R J Reynolds Tobacco Company and Forsyth County General Services. She was a dedicated member of Union Baptist Church, where she served in the music and fine arts ministry on the Adult Dance Praise ministry and as a faithful member of the Sunday school class until her health declined.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Carolyn Hooper and Mary Lee; step- grandson, AJ Hill Jr.; two sisters and one brother.

She was happily married to Zeb Gilmer Sheff Sr. for 17 years, after 24 years of courtship whom she leaves to cherish her memories. She also leaves to cherish her wonderful memories one daughter, Marilyn P. Lee; one step-daughter, Lisa (AJ, Sr.) Hill; two sons, Kenneth Lee (Fiancée-Tabitha) and Spencer (Gina) Lee all of W-S,NC; one step-son, Anthony (Carol) Sheff of Fayetteville, NC; six sisters, Dora Zimmerman of Waterbury, CT, Annie Clark, Etta Elderidge, and Cynthia Kersey of Greensboro, NC, Inez(Willie) Harrison and Irene (Lacy) Biglow of Reidsville, NC; two brothers, Joe Hooper and Roosevelt (Nana) Hooper of Greensboro, NC; 21 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; God-daughters, Venetta Hunt and Terry Gray; God-son, Edgar Bitting; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 11:30am on Saturday at the Church.
The family will assemble and leave from the home of her daughter, Marilyn Lee, 3390 Jeketer Dr. W-S, NC, 27105.
