Mr. Charles Tucker, 66, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Tucker was born December 29, 1946 in Galax, VA to the late James Monroe Tucker and Edna Grace Reeves Tucker.

He graduated from Scott Memorial High School in Wytheville, VA and was honorably discharged after serving in the US Army for 2 years. He was employed with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 22 years and before then at Hanes in Galax, VA.

Left to cherish his memories are his former wife, Rita Hash Maxwell; two daughters, Aretha "Ann" Ruth Tucker and Elizabeth Grace Tucker; three grandchildren, Malcolm Charles Tucker, Destiny Kamara Tucker, and Charrita Jolee Tucker of whom all called him "Papa"; three sisters and two brothers, Brenda Lee Tucker, Hilda Jo Tucker, Regina Tucker all of Galax, VA, James V. Tucker (Nancy Jo) of Fries, VA and George Tucker of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Mt. Zion Holiness Church, 139 Calloway St. Galax, VA 24333. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Saturday at the Church. Visitation for Mr. Tucker will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the KB Reynolds Hospice Home.
