Mr. Charles Earl Peoples, Sr., 90, of Winston- Salem, NC was born October 27, 1930 in Winston-Salem NC to the late Author Chester Peoples and Daisy Brooks Peoples. He departed his earthly life on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Peoples was a graduate of Atkins High School and after high school he went into the US Army to serve his country. He retired from AT&T and Forsyth Medical Center. He worked two jobs for 20 years. At an early age he was a member of Saints Home United Methodist Church before join Union Baptist Church. He was a dedicated member of Union Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board, Senior Choir, and Sunday School department.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Valencia Martin; six sisters, Margaretta Peoples Johnson, Odessa Peoples McDaniel, Ruthie Lee Peoples Matthews, Lucy Mae Thessalonian Peoples Bell, Daisy May Peoples Prattis, and Lucy Peoples (lost at birth); and five brothers, Robert Peoples, Arthur Chester Peoples, Jr., Marvin Peoples, Samuel Hiawatha Peoples, and Weldon Peoples (lost at birth).

Mr. Peoples was happily married to Shirley Martin Peoples for 64 beautiful years, whom he leaves to cherish dear sweet memories. He also leaves to cherish wonderful memories his children, Lorraine Wilson of Winston-Salem, NC, Ava (Timothy Sr.) Corbett of Farmville, VA, Charles, Jr. (Betsy) Peoples of Hampton, VA, Monteria Peoples of Chesapeake, VA, and Pamela Haith of Kernersville, NC; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one special niece, Dale (Bernard) Driver; one special nephew, Darryl (Pat) Foy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.  Private services Sunday, February 21, 2021. Interment will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC.
