On October 31, 2011, God in His infinite wisdom and divine love released our beloved Charles Douglas McNair from all earthly limitations and granted him everlasting peace and serenity. Charles was born on July 16, 1953 to the late Waddell and Ethel McNair Sr. in Winston-Salem, NC.
He completed his secondary education in Brooklyn, NY. In 1976 he received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. He was a devoted employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company for over 15 years. McNair & McNair Janitorial Service was owned and operated by him and his spouse form over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ella Murray McNair; and siblings, Catherine, Thomas, Harold, Betty, and Waddell Jr.
Surviving are daughters Tamika McNair of the city and Kenya McNair of Tallahassee, FL; brother, James Robinson; sister, Mary Jackson of the city; half-sister, Margaret Farmer of Creedmoor, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 2:30pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
