Obituary

Mr. Charles Bernard Higgins, Sr., 67, was born December 16, 1942 in Winston-Salem, NC to George and Rosa Higgins, Sr. He passed away November 25, 2010 at the WG Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury, NC.
Charles was a 1961 graduate of Atkins High School, a veteran of the US Army having served in the Vietnam War, and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he was affiliated with the Men's Ministry, Sheepfold Ministry, SBC Gospel Choir and Male Chorus. He retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 30 plus years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish most precious memories are four daughters, Aretha Higgins (Ellis) Williams, Debbie Higgins (Arthur) Jackson, and Pamela Nicole Brady all of Winston-Salem, NC and Patryce Rice of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Keith Higgins of Winston-Salem, NC, Charles B. (Selena) Higgins, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, and Reginald Higgins of Maryland; grandchildren, Shamale', Austin, and Devin Higgins, Tristen and Cameron Jackson all of Winston-Salem, NC, Thaddeus, Brooke, Jasmine, and Brianna Higgins all of Charlotte, NC; one great-grandson, Kamden Higgins of Winston-Salem, NC; one sister, Delarion Campbell of Winston-Salem, NC; three brothers, Robert Truesdale and George Higgins, Jr. both of Winston-Salem, NC and James Willie (Mary) Higgins of California; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Tuesday at the Church.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Sheldon and the veteran's administration staff at WG Hefner VA Medical Center, Springwood Care Center, Charles Fuller, Jessie Draft, and Natika Flemming for the care given to Mr. Higgins.
