Charles Calvin Eaton, Jr. departed this life Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home from an extended illness. Charles was born October 10, 1925. He graduated in 1945 from Dunbar High School, Lexington, NC, where he went to live with his aunt, Della Eaton. He began working for the Dize Company in Winston-Salem, NC when he decided to serve his country. Charles joined the US Army during the Korean Conflict in which he was honorably discharged twice thereafter. He moved back to Winston-Salem, NC and returned to Dize where he retired after 44 years.
The last five years of his life he made Greensboro, NC his home with his cousin. As his health declined, he was moved to the Maple Grove Rehabilitation Center where he stayed for 2 years. Charles was a lover of Jazz music.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Calvin, Sr. and Ethel Tatum Adams Eaton; one brother; one sister; and his longtime friend, Velma "Kate" Smith, and her children, Shirley Smith, and Valerie Smith.

He leaves to mourn one son, Sebrin Stinson and Sebrin's mother, Mary Ann Stinson Boone; one grandson and one great-granddaughter all of Chicago, IL; devoted cousins, Augdene K. Thomas and David Foy; brothers, Cardell (Carol) Eaton and James (Zandra) Eaton both of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Mary Frances Eaton Duncan of Philadelphia, PA; extended family, Darryl, Harold, Elder Kenneth, Kathleen, and Marilyn Smith; and a host of many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Kenneth Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Wednesday at the Chapel.
