Mr. Charles T. Crumblin, Jr. passed away peacefully at Forsyth Medical Center on Thursday, July 26, 2012.
Charles was educated in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, graduating from Atkins High School. From there he went on to earn degrees from both North Carolina Central University and Winston-Salem State University.
After serving in the Army, Charles worked in several arenas, including RJ Reynolds and the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. He ultimately landed at Duke Power Company and worked there until his retirement from the company's Marketing Department.
Charles was actively involved in the community, having served on the Human Relations Council for the City of Winston-Salem and the Appearance Committee for the Village of Clemmons. An avid Washington Redskins fan, Charles loved life and lived to the fullest.
He loved his family and leaves to cherish his loving wife, Veronica; son, Kamal Crumblin; a daughter, Kesha Crumblin; granddaughter, Kendalyn Crumblin; sisters, Virginia and Jessie Crumblin; brother, Roosevelt Crumblin (Donnoray); and children close to his heart, Melanie, Robin, and Charles Ramsey.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with Friar William J. Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 10:45am on Tuesday at the Church.
