Mr. Charles Lee Boyd Sr., 58, passed away on Sunday September 4, 2011 at KBR Hospice Home. Mr. Boyd attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and Forsyth Technical Community College. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1972 until 1975 when he received an honorable discharge. He was a member of New Gospel Tabernacle Church and served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He loved studying the bible, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Lou Boyd.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Angela Alston-Boyd; four daughters, Charlene Monique Barr, Maggie Alston-Boyd, Alana Alston and Yasmeen Alston; three sons, Charles L. Boyd Jr., Timothy J. Boyd, and Antonio McCall; three brothers, Reginald Boyd Sr., Willie (Sandra) Boyd, and Eric Champion; two grandchildren Jasmine Spearman and Elijah Brown; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing services will be held at 1pm Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
