Mr. Cedric Larmont Roberts, 55, affectionately known as "Bud", was born February 3, 1966 to Mr. Fredrick C. Roberts, Sr. and Ms. Tometta G. Roberts. He departed this life on Friday, October 1, 2021.

Mr. Roberts attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. He was a 1984 graduate of North Forsyth Senior High School where he exceled in track.

"Bud" grew up in the Cherryview community where he was much loved by everyone. He was an avid sports fan. He loved and supported the UNC Tarheels and the Carolina Panthers. Although, he would let you know that the Pittsburgh Steelers was his first love. He was also an avid PlayStation player. He had a group of friends that he played the game with, if you beat him, he would not let you go home, or to bed until he won. We used to joke with him that he played the game so much that he would pretend to play the controller and say Sega in his sleep. "Bud" was a kind loving person, he was known as the cool dad. He was always joking and making people laugh. He never met a stranger, everyone was welcomed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Tometta Gray Roberts: father, Fredrick Charles Roberts, Sr.; mother-in-law, Delma McFadden Crosby; and father-in-law, Bobby Ray Crosby,

He is survived his wife of 35 years, Mary J McFadden-Roberts; three sons, Al-Jauri T. Roberts, Sr., Cedric L. (Chelsea) Roberts, and Javonte C. Roberts; one daughter, Tarribean J (Justin) Roberts-Shelf; nine grandkids, Surayyah Roberts, Jeremiah Roberts, Justin Shelf, Jr., Josiah Shelf, Kyair Roberts, Abigail Roberts, Farrah Roberts, Kyonni Roberts, and Al-Jauri Roberts, Jr.; two brothers, Fredrick C. Roberts, Jr. and Reginald Roberts; one aunt, Algine Coleman; three sisters-in-law, Terri D. McFadden, Demitrice L. McFadden, and Trenice L. McFadden; one brother-in-law, Marquise D. (Barbara) Crosby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2021.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
