Cedric Osmund Hooper completed his earthly assignment on Monday, June 20, 2011. He was born on October 6, 1967 in Mooresville, NC to the late Floyd Adams and the late Mildred Hooper. After graduating from Mooresville High School, he attended Winston-Salem State University and most recently graduated in May with BS in Business.
Cedric was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy Fan, and had no problem in expressing just how much he loved his team. He was full of life, loved life, and lived his life as best as he could. Those who were blessed to be in his presence had the opportunity to share laughs, analyze sports, and engage in lengthy discussions about his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He also loved the Band at WSSU and participated by playing the Tuba. He was one of the original members of the "Fiberglass Fools".
Cedric was employed with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools working at Northwest Middle School, Emmanuel Baptist Kemet Academy and Lindley Rehabilitation. He made a huge impact with the children he worked with. He was a teacher, mentor, coach, and friend to many with whom he interacted with.
He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and worked on various auxiliaries.
His fondest and loving memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Tomeka Jackson-Hooper; his children, Christopher Hooper, Chance Olivia Wright, Bernard Flynt, III, and Al'Trevion Jackson; his sister, Lafreda Hooper; his grandmother, Annie Hooper; and many other relatives and friends.
The celebration of life for Mr. Hooper will be held at 3pm Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. John Mendez officiating. The family visitation will be held from 2pm until 3pm on Saturday at the Church. Interment will be held in Morrows Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mooresville, NC on Monday, June 27, 2011.
