Cattie Finklea, known to many as "Gran-Gran", passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 after living 91 years to its fullest. Cattie was the eldest child born on September 5, 1924 in Scotland County, NC.

Cattie loved to be with her family, friends, and her side-kick (dog) Kendall. Cattie was not an ordinary person. She was exceptional; her upbeat personality, wisdom and strength of character made her a pleasure to be around and demonstrated a true example of a phenomenal woman. She was committed to being a supportive, loving matriarch whose strength grounded her family during life's triumphs and challenges.

She always imparted her wisdom, smile and love to everyone she met. Each of us have walked away better for having known her.
Cattie was a faithful member of First Waughtown Baptist Church.

Cattie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Finklea; and two children, D.C. Sinclair and Doris Sinclair Black.

She leaves to celebrate her life two devoted sons, Harrison Finklea of Monroe, NC and Ricky Finklea of Kernersville, NC; one brother, Curtis (Linda) Sinclair; three sisters, Mary Sinclair of W-S, NC, Gladys Sinclair Hampton and Frances Sinclair both of Charlotte, NC; two sisters-n-law, Alberta Sinclair of Laurinburg, NC and Sally Sinclair of Virginia; devoted nephew, Bobby Sinclair; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, November 20, 2015 at First Waughtown Baptist Church, 838 Moravia Street W-S, NC 27107 with Reverend Dennis Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Friday at the Church.
